Why HEIC to JPG?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It produces smaller files than JPG while maintaining quality—great for your phone's storage, not so great when you need to share photos with non-Apple devices or upload to websites that don't support HEIC.

The conversion is lossless in the sense that we decode the original HEIC and re-encode to JPG at the quality level you choose. At 90% quality (the default), the output is visually identical to the original for all practical purposes.

We handle the quirks of HEIC files automatically—things like embedded color profiles, orientation data, and HDR tone mapping. Your converted JPGs will look right without any manual adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

We convert the still image portion of Live Photos. The video component isn't included since JPG is a still image format. For the full Live Photo experience, you'd need to keep the original HEIC.
