You can use decimal format (40.7128) or DMS format (40° 42' 46" N). The tool accepts both and converts automatically. Negative values indicate South latitude or West longitude.
JPG, PNG, WebP, and TIFF have the best support. Some newer formats like AVIF have more limited metadata capabilities. JPG with EXIF is the most universally compatible.
